Project outline:Project achievements and outcomes:Established at Swayne St, the site of the former Pioneer Shire Nursery, to provide seedlings for the Central Queensland Coast Revegetation Initiative (CQCRI). When CCRI finished, the nursery was retained to provide a venue for education on native vegetation, native seed collection and propagation, nursery practices and to provide plants for revegetation. The propagation of seedlings grown at the nursery was mostly undertaken by local volunteers and Green Reserve. In 2005/2006, around 5500 plants were propagated and distributed through our nursery, and we held an open day and training events. PCL's involvement in the Community Nursery finished in 2006, whereupon resources including the seed bank were transferred over to the Mackay City Council Environment Centre.
